About the Role – Leader of Long-Distance Moving: We’re on the lookout for an experienced and strategic leader to help take our long-distance moving operations to the next level. In this role, you’ll assess where we are today and build a roadmap for where we’re headed—enhancing everything from logistics and pricing to compliance and franchise support. As the Leader of Long-Distance Moving, you’ll partner closely with franchise owners and our corporate team to create smart, scalable systems that help our network grow with confidence. You’ll bring deep knowledge of long-distance logistics, DOT/FMCSA regulations, and a knack for building strategies that actually work in real life—not just on paper. What You’ll Be Doing Strategy & Growth
- Take a deep dive into our current long-distance moving operations—spot what’s working, what’s not, and where the big opportunities lie
- Design a franchise-friendly, scalable business model for long-distance moving
- Build both a quick-win action plan and a long-term growth roadmap
- Collaborate with leadership and franchisees to get buy-in and drive adoption
Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Optimize logistics through smarter routing, load planning, and strong carrier partnerships
- Leverage tech tools to improve tracking, move management, and customer experience
- Ensure we’re fully compliant with all DOT/FMCSA regulations and industry standards
- Standardize pricing, tariffs, and contracts to keep everything consistent and profitable
- Stay on top of industry regulations and adjust our playbook as needed
Franchise & Team Support
- Develop training and support systems to set franchisees up for long-distance success
- Create clear processes, pricing models, and logistics frameworks for easy implementation
- Build solid partnerships with brokers, third-party carriers, and logistics providers
Financial & Performance Management
- Own and refine pricing strategies, cost management, and overall financial performance
- Track KPIs to measure growth, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
- Use data insights to improve operations and guide decision-making
What You Bring to the Table
- 10+ years in the moving industry, especially full-service and long-distance
- Deep understanding of moving tariffs, pricing strategies, and DOT/FMCSA compliance
- Experience working in a franchise or multi-unit organization
- Strong operational and strategic skills—you know how to build AND scale
- Solid background in logistics, fleet management, and working with carriers
- P&L management experience and a proven ability to drive profitability
- Data-driven mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Tech-savvy with experience using tools to drive better service and performance
- Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
