Job Summary The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for a variety of activities about Our Company tax compliance and reporting, including but not limited to the preparation and filing of all monthly tax reporting for all entities. The Senior Tax Accountant is also responsible for calculating quarterly estimated tax calculations and payment of all taxes in addition to historical tax reconciliations. This is a salaried exempt position that reports directly to the Senior Director Controller. Responsibilities

  • Manages the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns for local, sales, excise, property, and gross receipt taxes across several states as well as over 50 locations.
  • Manages federal, state, or local tax audits
  • Prepares monthly reconciliations and manages month/quarter/year-end close deliverables
  • Manages Tax Associate to ensure indirect tax filing and payment deadlines are met (monthly/quarter/annually)
  • Reconciles monthly go-forward of over/under collected tax amounts.
  • Prepares and reviews quarterly tax accounting calculations in accordance with ASC 740.
  • Manages all tax audits and responds to tax notices received from taxing jurisdictions by researching and resolving them as necessary.
  • Review proposed audit assessments and calculations.
  • Partners cross-functionally to develop, implement, improve, and execute financial and accounting processes as well as systems (FloQast).
  • Develop and document work instructions and accounting policies to maintain as well as strengthen internal controls over tax items (FloQast).
  • Maintains supporting tax documentation for audit purposes.
  • Prepares monthly tax journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Works within the Accounting team and other departments to understand business processes
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Accounting is required, CPA is preferred as well.
  • Four or more years of indirect and corporate income tax experience, and leadership experience is an advantage
  • Experience with cannabis companies preferred
  • Base knowledge of basic accounting procedures for revenue recognition, accrued expenses, and inventory.
  • Has excellent communication skills both in person, by telephone, and through email.
  • Has knowledge of Accounting Standards Codification 740 tax provision.
  • Previous experience with tax payment and filing, auditing, and reconciliation.
  • Experience communicating with jurisdictions and representatives regarding tax matters.
  • Knowledge of supporting documentation for tax purposes.
  • Experience preparing monthly tax journal entries for audit purposes.

We are looking for a Harvest and Trim Technician who can perform the duties below in accordance with the Company’s standard operating procedures.  This position is a full-time role, located out of our state-of-the-art cannabis production facility in Webberville, MI: In this role you will….

  • Assist manager and cultivation team with all aspects of the harvest process including; harvesting, takedown, deboning and sorting.
  • Perform trimming of dried plants, ensuring trimmed leaf, trimmed flower and steams or other waste are separated and per harvest batch to be weighted and reported properly.
  • Continuously meet or exceed company Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) that are established by the Post Production Manager.
  • Harvest plants in the appropriate plant production area, ensuring plants are handled properly.
  • Package products, support curing process, and/or work with joint rolling as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate biosecurity measures.
  • Keep harvest area organized and separate waste and plant material in accordance with their assigned harvest batch.
  • Ensure accuracy and traceability to trimming data by carefully collecting all plant material into its designated container.
  • Perform weight of plants or plant material during trimming, harvesting, processing, and packaging as requested by the Post- Production Manager.
  • Clean and sanitize workspace per Company SOPs.
  • Perform quality assurance measures, including inspecting material during trim or packaging, maintain sterile environment.
  • Clean and sanitize the harvest area and equipment used after harvest per company SOPs and assisting with disposal as needed.

Extraction technicians perform the day-to-day functions of production while adhering to safety, compliance, and company policies.   **What You’ll Do:** 
  • Transfer and prepare biomass for CO2, ethanol, and hydrocarbon extraction
