Business Development Officer
Job Description This full-time, in-person position will support the Business Development Team within the Specialty Banking Center at Needham Bank. The Business Development Associate will be involved with customer identification, onboarding and relationship maintenance to promote vertical and horizontal portfolio growth. He or she will work closely with our Team, specifically the Business Development Team, while also being exposed to other departments that support the us.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Leveraging available public resources to identify cannabis prospects for proactive outreach
- Advanced knowledge of all products and services available to cannabis prospects including but not limited to deposit, cash management and commercial lending
- Deep and continuously expanding understanding of the reporting and compliance framework of the Cannabis Banking Program
- Leadership of introductory conversations with prospects and full relationship review conversations with existing clients to maintain portfolio health
- Creation and maintenance of effective relationships with internal partners to facilitate a positive overall customer experience
- Continuous education within but not limited to the scope of Cannabis regulatory, compliance, legal and lending arenas
- Identification of growth opportunities (conferences, events, etc.) both locally and nationally and willingness to attend to expand visibility and market-share.
- Perform additional duties as requested, needed or assigned

Education & Experience
- Bachelors and/or Graduate degree in Business, Finance, Law or related field
- At least 5 years experience in banking/finance/cannabis/compliance or related field
- Advanced knowledge of business environment
